Procurement is a moment. Relationship performance is ongoing.

The Procurement Gap

Technology success does not end when a contract is signed.

Most organisations spend significant effort selecting the right provider. Far fewer apply the same discipline to maintaining the relationship afterwards.

Providers focus on winning the opportunity. Clients focus on making the right selection. After the agreement is signed, both parties are often left navigating expectations, communication and value realisation without an independent layer of support.

When the relationship layer is missing, value leaks quietly.

  • Misaligned expectations
  • Poor communication
  • Slow issue resolution
  • Underutilised technology
  • Missed opportunities
  • Service frustration
  • Stakeholder disengagement
  • Reduced return on investment
Procurement is completed

The provider is selected, commercial terms are agreed, and the organisation contracts directly with the provider.

The relationship becomes operational

New stakeholders, service reviews, roadmap conversations, adoption questions and commercial discussions emerge over time.

FAQ

Virtual Vendor Relationship Management questions

What is Virtual Vendor Relationship Management™?

Virtual Vendor Relationship Management™ is CYBORIUM's independent, vendor-neutral relationship support model for organisations that have already completed a successful procurement engagement through CYBORIUM. It helps clients and providers maintain clear communication, review relationship health, address issues constructively, identify new opportunities and improve long-term technology outcomes across software, cybersecurity, AI, cloud, managed services and enterprise IT relationships.

How is it different from vendor management?

Traditional vendor management is usually an internal operational function focused on contracts, supplier performance, reporting and compliance. CYBORIUM does not replace that function. Virtual Vendor Relationship Management™ provides an independent relationship layer that can support communication, service review facilitation, stakeholder alignment, provider engagement and value discovery without becoming the client's internal vendor manager or the provider's account manager.

How is it different from managed services?

Managed services providers operate, support or manage technology environments. CYBORIUM does not operate technology, manage infrastructure, deliver service desk functions, run security operations or replace MSPs and MSSPs. This service exists to help the organisation and provider work together more effectively after procurement.

How is it different from project management?

Project management focuses on delivery plans, tasks, milestones, risks and implementation governance. CYBORIUM does not replace project managers or delivery teams. Virtual Vendor Relationship Management™ focuses on the ongoing provider relationship, including service reviews, roadmap discussions, feedback sessions, escalations and long-term alignment.

Can CYBORIUM join service review meetings?

Yes. Where requested, CYBORIUM can participate in service review meetings to provide an independent perspective, help clarify expectations, support constructive discussion and identify opportunities for improvement.

Can CYBORIUM support MSP relationships?

Yes. The service is well suited to managed service provider relationships, including new MSP engagements, multi-year managed services agreements and ongoing technology support arrangements.

Can CYBORIUM support MSSP relationships?

Yes. CYBORIUM can support managed security service provider relationships, including MSSP, SOC, MDR, vulnerability management, security monitoring and broader cybersecurity service engagements.

Can CYBORIUM assist during contract renewals?

Yes. CYBORIUM can support commercial discussions and contract renewal conversations where appropriate, particularly when the original procurement was facilitated by CYBORIUM.

Can CYBORIUM help identify new capabilities?

Yes. CYBORIUM can support conversations with providers about new features, product enhancements, platform capabilities, service improvements, roadmap updates, innovation opportunities, emerging technologies and potential optimisation options.

Can CYBORIUM communicate with providers on our behalf?

CYBORIUM can assist with provider engagement and help facilitate communication, but it does not replace the client's relationship owner or act as an undisclosed intermediary. The objective is transparent, constructive alignment between the organisation and provider.

Who is eligible for this service?

This service is only available after CYBORIUM has successfully facilitated the procurement of a technology solution, managed service, cybersecurity service, software platform or provider engagement.

Does CYBORIUM charge clients?

No. CYBORIUM's model is zero-fee for the end client. Organisations do not pay consulting fees, retainers, subscription charges or relationship management invoices for Virtual Vendor Relationship Management™.

How often can reviews occur?

Review cadence depends on the relationship, risk level, service complexity and stakeholder needs. Some organisations may request periodic reviews, while others may only need support around service reviews, escalations, renewals or roadmap updates.

Can organisations request support at any time?

Eligible organisations can request support when needed, including service review meetings, vendor concerns, governance reviews, provider feedback, roadmap discussions, feature requests, technology planning conversations, contract renewals or commercial discussions.

Better Relationships Create Better Outcomes

Technology success doesn't end when procurement ends. Virtual Vendor Relationship Management™ helps organisations and providers stay aligned, communicate effectively, uncover opportunities and achieve stronger long-term outcomes through independent, vendor-neutral support.
